CommentThere are 4 species of Shy-type Albatross. The Shy, White-capped , Salvin's and Chatham. All are characterized by a white underwing with a narrow black border and an obvious black axillary tab. From above they have all dark wings, back and tail with a white rump. Salvin's Albatross nest on the Bounty islands of NZ and are identified by a greyish hood and a generally paler to white cap. They have a pale yellow/grey bill with a black spot on the lower mandible
