CommentThe heath of the South-West of WA around Cheynes Beach provides vital habitat for the elusive Western Whipbird along with the Western Bristlebird and Noisy Scrub Bird. The Western Whipbird has a distinctive song and will use vantage points like this Banksia Baxteri to call out to other birds usually early in the morning and at sunset, before darting for cover and feeding on the ground or in low shrubs.
