Hi,

I was out recently in Gibraltar Range National Park (Mulligans Hut Campground) and photographed this treecreeper. In the area the White-throated is generally dominant with Red-browed being present but not particulary common. The Adults are quite easy to pick apart but I was curious if people had any thoughts on this one, presumably a juvenile.

The habitat was dry sclerophyll, relatively open with large Eucalyptus, plenty of insect life and many active feeding birds. Exactly where you would expect to find treecreepers.

Kind Regards,

Jacob

A terrific capture of a juvenile White-throated treecreeper for my mind Jacob.

Thanks Rob, curious what points of identification were most apparent?

The barred under-tail is obvious, and the black/white streaks on breast are beginning to appear. When I zoom in on the image I can also (just barely) make out that the juvenile markings on the forehead are disappearing.

Cheers,

Rob.
