Since its release, the Canon R5 has had quite a number of firmware updates. The latest v. 1.7.0 is now available. It has:-

1. Corrected the phenomenon that, on rare occasions, the camera would not operate normally while shooting a small subject [this looks important for bird photographers].
2. Fixed minor bugs [always worth fixing minor bugs].

If you missed some earlier updates, it is probably time to get onto this one which will bring your camera software up to date. There have also been firmware updates for the Canon R3 and R6 cameras. Check out the Canon Australia website for the latest downloads.

Canon also released new firmware for the R7 in late November: v1.2.0
