I thought some of the cameras that RAW doesn't support include those that would have been reasonably current at the date of my version of Elements. The main problem was with Olympus but on further digging, it seems that Olympus regularly change their ORF RAW file with each model so it may be that Adobe RAW was too old a version to recognise the files. I have successfully opened one Olympus RAW file from models that would have been concurrent with my version of Elements. I understand that newer RAW versions won't work with Elements but Adobe ensures I can't install these. There's no real incentive for Adobe to keep the version of Adobe RAW working in my 2022 software when they could sell a new version to me. That's commercial reality.

For me, the most interesting item in you post was the new limit to 3 years for an Elements licence. Perhaps not a big deal as I'd probably want to update after some years but am still happy with my 2022 version of Elements. So I'd probably squeeze 5 or 6 years out of a licence before updating. Not a big cost in the end though considering what we spend on our camera gear. I am aware of the ability to convert to DNG and have used this in the past where circumstances dictated.
