Commentssp tundrae This lone vagrant was seen feeding on the mudflats with the Red-capped Plovers. At the Broome Bird Observatory it was called as a Common Ringed Plover but there are some major challenges to distinguish from a Semipalmated Plover that have also been recorded as vagrants. The black band over the forehead is still a remnant of its breeding plumage although the basal half of the bill is orange in full breeding plumage. I submit the image as it is the only one we have from Australia.
