CommentI have entered this photograph of a Bassian Thrush because I was absolutely delighted at this first sighting of one of these secretive birds, let alone have literally land next to me, seemingly out of nowhere, and that I was able to photograph it. I was also delighted to be able to capture a short sequence of images before it disappeared into the vegetation – I was extremely pleased that I was able to capture a catch-light in its eye, that the bird is presented at a pleasing angle, and that I could capture its distinctive mottled plumage with brown-black scalloping.
