CommentAdult female showing characteristic rufous chin and throat. Note terminal spines of tail. This was a species I was keen to photograph, having failed on a previous visit. I was pleased to hear it calling pre-dawn, while I was lying in bed, and after breakfast found a loudly-calling group. The birds were not difficult to find early morning but I found them challenging subjects as they were very active and the light was poor, requiring extreme exposure settings.
EquipmentCanon R3 + 600 mm f/4 III, hand-held.
Manual (Av,Tv,ISO), spot AF, f/4, 1/250 sec, ISO 10,000.
Processed using DPP4 and PSE 2021 with Neat Image v. 9 plug-in.
