CommentI photographed this bird late morning and this shot had a very light background so I decided to experiment in post-processing. After doing some simple adjustments to get the bird looking well exposed I then masked the bird and the reflections and then simply inverted the mask which allowed me to then brighten the background to remove most of the detail. I also applied a couple of local adjustments to slightly brighten the right side of the face (bird's left side) and right eye (the bird's left eye) to give the head a more balanced look.

All this was done in DxO PhotoLab and took less than five minutes.
