CommentI have been hearing a Spectacled Monarch calling in my garden for the last 2-3 weeks. In the last couple of days their activity has increased considerably and they are regularly calling to each other and visiting the bird bath. I think they might be nesting nearby. This photo was taken after a bath. I was pleased to obtain both birds in the one image, even though part of the second bird was not included.

Lens : Panasonic Leica 100-400mm/ F4.0-6.3
Exposure 1/125 sec; F7.1; ISO 6400; Focal length 236mm
This was processed in Photoshop Elements and Neat Image. I have recently purchased Neat Image so that I can use a high ISO, which is necessary due to the shady nature of my backyard. I selected the two birds and their perch, and removed noise and sharpened using Neat Image. Hightlights and Shadows were enhanced, the image cropped and resized. Finally the sharpness of the selected birds was adjusted.
