CommentWe are lucky that we have two ponds near where we live where I often walk to see what birds are about and this time it was a Royal Spoonbill standing in shallow water surrounded by water plants. They have such a regal stance with their vivid red eyes and the yellow patch above the eye giving them almost a comical look. I didn't want to crop this photo too much as I like how the bird is completely surrounded by vegetation.
