CommentNote the four flying ants. This bird was feeding in a major ant hatch. The blunt wings seem to be typical of the more acrobatic aerialists - as is the widely-splayed tail. The sudden acceleration and the rapid changes in direction and the dark plumage against a bright background made photography a major challenge. This is one of several Drongoes feeding on the hatch. ID 22249, where an ant can be seen in the upper right hand corner, was photographed during the same hatch. Note the speed setting to freeze motion and the higher f stop to try and ensure good depth of field for the whole bird in a rapidly which is rapidly changing direction.
