| Comment | We went for a night drive around the Dryandra Woodland Conservation Area to spot nocturnal birds and animals. We had some success and upon arriving back at our cabin, we heard a Boobook calling loudly in a nearby pine tree. It was race ocellata, found through much of Western Australia and east to the Great Dividing Range. In North West and Central Australia it is usually pale, more reddish and less clearly marked. In the South West of Western Australia birds are darker as in the picture. | ||||||||||||||||||
| Equipment | Canon 5Ds + 600 mm f/4 II + 1.4x III extender, 600 EX-RT flash, hand-held. Manual, spot metering, single shot spot AF, f/5.6, 1/200 sec, ISO 1250, full flash power. Processed with DPP4 and PSE14. | ||||||||||||||||||
