CommentThis young male variegated fairy-wren was photographed just prior Christmas 2015 in low scrubland just east of Roxby down in South Australia. I could hear the birds, stood still and was lucky enough that a number of these fairy-wrens moved through the bushes where I was standing and even more fortunate to get this photo focused. It was on of about five that a got before the group moved on. Taken about 9am. Exposure 400th second, f/5.6, ISO 720 at 400mm, hand held. Photo has been heavily cropped, sharpened and colour enhanced in photoshop and On1.
EquipmentNikon D800 Camera; 80.0-400.0mm f/4.5-5.6 G, ED, AFS Nikkor lens.
