CommentThis Brown Thornbill is similar to the Tasmanian Thornbill, but there are several things which serve to differentiate them. The Tasmanian Thornbill has a shorter bill than the Brown; its forehead is a richer rufous/chestnut colour rather than brown; it also has chestnut colouring on the margins of the wing feathers. The streaking in the throat and breast are more pronounced in the Brown, the Tasmanian is more uniformly grey. The Brown has a dark red eye and eye-ring.
