CommentI photographed this male Magpie-Lark at Lake Joondalup, WA on an overcast afternoon at 16:37 with a camera I contemplated buying. As is usual, photographing solely black and white birds proved difficult, but I think that I managed to get details in most parts of the bird. We haven’t yet many images of this species from WA, so I think this one has merit in spite of the shortcomings. The bird is of the southern subspecies: Grallina cyanoleuca cyanoleuca, which is found across the southern half of the Australian mainland.
