CommentThe image appealed to me because of the clarity of image provided by the bird's dark coloured plumage and red beak against a stark nearly white limestone gravel path that, while providing texture, was free from distracting elements. Other features that appealed are the impression of the bird’s gangly nature as it traverses the path, and a sense that this bird is on the move shown by a raised wing in windy conditions, the stride, and the blur of toes and talons.
