CommentWoodman Point is located just to the south of Fremantle, WA. It is an important feeding ground for migratory birds wintering in Australia, and it’s also a crucial resting place for seabirds such as gulls, terns and cormorants; they sit here resting after fishing under Garden Island on the exposed rocks just off the shore-line, more so at low tide. On this particular morning, just at dawn, the tide was unusually high, and ‘The Point’ had become an island, enabling a pod of dolphins to swim by just beyond the rocks. Time of capture 06:32
EquipmentOlympus OM-D E-M1X with Olympus 12-40mm f2.8 Zuiko PRO lens. Monopod. Camera settings: 1/250 sec at f9 & ISO-500
LocationWoodman Point, Western Australia
