CommentI noticed that the Welcome Swallows were flying to and fro this perch while hunting. Waiting for the morning light to become good, I autofocused the lens on the perch, then switched it to ‘Manual Focus’ on the lens body, but kept the high exposure speed at 5 frames per second, having also preset the camera to a fast shutter speed of 1/3200 sec, stopping down the aperture one stop also for increased depth of field. Standing up, watching as a bird flew in, I pressed the shutter release, and this capture is one of a handful where it all came together
