Yellow-faced Honeyeater

Yellow-faced Honeyeater (Image ID 40840)
CommentI have entered this photo as I am pleased with the sharpness and clarity of the bird. I am also pleased with the yellow and black facial markings as well as the dusky blue eye colouring that clearly identify this bird as a Yellow-faced Honeyeater. The white gape clearly helps identify the bird as an adult. Soft even light has assisted with keeping the black and white areas from ‘blowing out’. The perch was a good distance away from the background bushes which has allowed for a soft background. I also like the yellowish tints in the perch branch and leaves as they complement the yellow markings on the bird. These wonderful small birds cheer up my backyard with their beautiful calls.
