CommentWe thought we were about to photograph a Black Falcon, however, it wasn't to be. It turns out that it is a 'dark morph' Brown Falcon. I was informed by a good source that Black Falcons DO NOT have banding in the tail as shown in my photo.

Either way, it always pays to be vigilant when driving home through the countryside. This beauty was perched in a dead tree only a few metres behind the fenceline. A quick u-turn allowed us to get back to where the bird was, resukting in this photo.
