Yellow-rumped Thornbill

Yellow-rumped Thornbill (Image ID 46995)
CommentFollowing the Black Summer bushfires in Gippsland I observed this Yellow-rumped Thornbill building its rather untidy nest in a pine tree. I am not sure if this was due to an inability to find more suitable habitat as a result of the devastating fires. I like that the bird is sharp with a catch light in its eye also that it is demonstrating its nest building skills.
