CommentThis cormorant flew in as I was waiting to see who would turn up at a local dam late in the afternoon. It didn't take long before half a dozen Noisy Miners were on to it although the cormorant made it's view clear and none of the Miners were game to get too close.
EquipmentCanon R5mk2 with RF 100-500mm, handheld at 500mm 1/3200 sec, f/7.1, ISO 1600. Initially processed in Canon Neural Network tool for noise reduction and deconvolution then in Canon DPP 4 to adjust white balance, colour, exposure and lighting. A 16 bit TIFF file was created from the RAW DPP image and finished in PSE (Adobe Photoshop Elements). Main subject selected and adjustments made to lighten shadows, darken highlights and increase midtone contrast as appropriate. Inverse of main subject selected and adjustments made as appropriate to contrast, highlights, shadows and saturation to make the bird stand out more effectively. Main subject sharpened after resizing for upload.
