CommentThe thing I love about using my inflatable kayak is that I get the capture birds from a different angle and perspective. They also don't seem to be so concerned if I am close. This was on the Darling River half way between Wilcannia and Menindee on a 20000 acre sheep property. How distracting is the distant branch? Any other comments would be appreciated.

The whites in the photo are overexposed, and seem close to clipping. The perch is also too bright. This should be easy to fix with the highlights or whites sliders in Lightroom, or some local masking and adjustments over the bird's breast and the branch. This would have the added benefit of reducing the comparative brightness of the out of focus branch behind.

I would also use local adjustments or masking to lower the brightness of the out of focus branch even further relative to the rest of the image. It should be fairly straightforward to reduce its brightness considerably and make it less obvious.
