| Comment | This image was captured in somewhat harsh, mid-afternoon light. It was underexposed with the intention of highlighting the crow’s eye against a dark background. While I didn’t completely achieve my goal in-camera, I was pleased that I captured the side light on the bird’s beak and the old timber jetty. A small piece of silver hardware on the jetty was also illuminated by the sun at the right angle, almost mimicking the bird's eye. The conversion to monochrome, along with some creative exposure adjustments, has resulted in a more gothic mood, which I feel suits the scene. I have entered this image for its uniqueness and moodiness. | ||||||||||||||||||
