CommentOn this morning, Skeleton Creek was running fast and full after heavy rains overnight. The weir under the boardwalk had attracted several hundred birds of around twenty species, all feeding on critters being flushed over the spillway. I like this shot showing pelicans adopting an unusual feeding habit to catch the edible goodies at the bottom of the spillway – sitting down and putting their enormous bills sideways in the very shallow water (only 10-20mm deep) to scoop up the tiny morsels.
