| Comment | I noticed a sizeable flock of silvereyes had congregated on the ground where a nearby camper had thrown out a cup of water. The birds were trying to collect any moisture they could from the ground and were so intent on doing so that I was able to approach within a metre of them without them flying. To get this shot, I also poured a cup of water on the ground and set my camera up with a wide angle lens and remote control on the ground next to where I'd poured the water. I didn't have to wait long. I notice some other species also came in (eg Superb Fairy-wrens). | ||||||||||||||||||
| Equipment | Canon R5 with RF 24-105mm, handheld at 26mm 1/320 sec, f/7.1, ISO 2500. Initially processed in Canon DPP 4 to crop, adjust exposure and lighting. All noise reduction turned off in DPP. All noise reduction turned off in DPP. A 16 bit TIFF file was created from the RAW DPP image and finished in PSE (Adobe Photoshop Elements) where noise reduction was applied globally along with adjustments made as appropriate to lighting, then it was sharpened after resizing for upload.
