CommentClarity of feather detail, muted background pallette of the bush, a perch snaking diagonally through the image, and the bird's absolute concentration on breakfast. It appears aware but unfussed about a camera nearby - another positive that the bird was not disturbed from its daily activities.
These were reasons to submit this image of a migrant cuckoo on a winter morning.
