Commentssp Gibson's Albatross. The identification of Wandering-type Albatrosses is extremely difficult and is made even more so by varying taxonomic classifications across the world. This male Gibson's is very similar in appearance to a young Wandering Albatross. The points of difference include the dark flecks on the crown, bolder dark vermiculations over back and more black in tail tip. The main point of difference from the Northern Royal Albatross is the lack of dark cutting edge to beak and any white on the upper wing
