CommentThere was something zen-like as this Great Egret flew gently down into the still, misty shallows without barely causing a ripple. A very soft light hit the far bank, adding a touch of warmth to the otherwise cool atmosphere. Achieving small-in-frame compositions that work can be challenging but this image was made easier by the lack of distractions. I've chosen to enter this photo because it has a very peaceful feel and a strong sense of space and scale.
