CommentI was walking along near the edge of a drying out Lake Mclarty with some of the surrounding shrublands between me and the lake itself. I had my camera rig over the shoulder. Suddenly, this Inland Thornbill occurred out of nowhere and settled at head height in a shrub to check me out, I reckon. Though it moved around, it gave me time to put down and position my camera rig, and I achieved a dozen captures, before it went on its merry way. This is one of just two good captures from that session. I see this bird quite often in different habitats of the Perth and Peel Regions, but they’re always very busy, and so I do not get many photos of them. I am glad I did not miss this brief photo opportunity, as I’ve done so many times with this species before and after. Time of capture: 15:44.
