CommentThis White-faced Heron was seen quite close to the Trin Warren Tam-boore Wetland bird hide, much to the delight of a family with some young children also viewing it from the hide. It seemed much too preoccupied with the task in hand to be troubled by the exclamations and screams from the children. It was gliding ever so slowly, cat-like, through the reeds and grasses. Every so often it would dart forward and catch some unsuspecting invertebrate, gulp it down, and then continue on with its slow motion ballet. The photo highlights its beautifully curved wing and breast feathers, and the intensity of its gimlet gaze as it searches for the next tasty morsel.
