CommentA flock of Spoonbills arrived at a shallow beach pool where I had been shooting for a few hours. Laying at the pool's edge, I started to track them in flight as more birds arrived. This Spoony began circling me overhead and I was able to follow him in and capture this majestic touch-down pose with his wings outstretched, tail flared, and toes reaching for the water in some beautiful sidelight.
EquipmentCanon EOS 1DX MKII, Sigma Sports 150-600mm, manual exposure, F/6.3, 1/2500, ISO 500 and post-processed using DPP4 and PS.
