CommentAn inquisitive Little Shrike-thrush making an early morning foray for a drink and a quick bath. Note the worn feathers on this bird, particularly the abdominal feathers. The smooth bokeh has been attained by ensuring no objects are close to and immediately behind the field of view, which was a grassy field.
EquipmentD500 body + AF-S Nikkor 180-400mm f4 TC1.4 FL ED VR at 400mm; 1/80s at f / 7.1; VR ON, ISO 640; tripod with Wimberley head. Processed with Adobe Lightroom CC; profile Adobe Vivid; minor adjustments to WB Cloudy 6,500, Exposure -0.15, Contrast +4, Highlights -29, Shadows +30, Whites -32, Blacks -39, Clarity 0, Dehaze 0 and Vibrance +21. Tone Curve – Highlights -16, Lights -6, Darks +35, Shadows +10. Sharpening 45. Noise reduction not required, rarely necessary with the D500 sensor.
