| Comment | I did a quick search of the gallery, and found no photos of the Tasmanian subspecies, so I decided to post this image. The Tasmanian subspecies (Gymnorhina tibicen hypoleuca) belongs to the white-backed group, and is slightly smaller than those on the mainland. Also Tasmanian magpies don't swoop! | ||||||||||||||||||
| Equipment | Camera: Olympus E-M1 Mk II Lens: Panasonic Leica 100-400, F4.0-6.3 Exposure 1/100; F8; ISO 1600, Lens focal length 161mm Processed in Photoshop Elements. The bird was selected and shadows and highlights enhanced to bring out the detail in the white and black feathers. Sharpness was also enhanced. | ||||||||||||||||||
