CommentThere is a small population of these introduced birds at Northam, WA. This shot was taken in Petaluma, California, where there is a small breeding population on the Petaluma Wetland. In the USA Mute Swans were introduced into New York State in the 1800s and there are now substantial breeding populations in lakes, rivers etc in north eastern States and the Great Lakes. There are apparently only small isolated populations in California.
