CommentNo matter how many times I see an Azure Kingfisher, they always stop me in my tracks. This bird was out at sunrise chasing a feed and obligingly gave me an ‘over the shoulder’ pose while it perched on a branch overhanging water. The early morning light was behind me and helped emphasise the bird’s beautiful colourings and feather patterns.
EquipmentCanon 7D Mark II with Canon EF 600mm f4/L USM non IS lens at 600mm, 1/160sec, f5, ISO 320 on tripod under portable bird-hide.
