CommentI had a recent trip to the Mallee and visited a business called 'Explore the Mallee'. They have a property with preserved Mallee scrub, bird hides and water points to attract the birds. It can be accessed for a fee - but well worth it. It's a great place to see and photograph some Mallee locals. This Australian Ringneck is the Mallee sub-species.

EF400mm f/4 DO IS USM +1.4x III
Birdhide and water though.
Hand held.
1/320th sec at f/8 , ISO 2000.
Processed with LightRoom Classic (Cropping, tone and colour adjustments), Photoshop 22.2 with Neat Image v8 plugin (Noise reduction and Sharpening).
