CommentThis Cisticola is caught at its Golden-headed best in the early morning sun rising over Lake Borrie. The coarse black head streaking is characteristic of both male and females non-breeding plumage. It was making its occasional zweeting call as it zipped around the shrubs and grasses between the lake and the shoreline. It was certainly more active than the flocks of nearby Welcome Swallows, still waking up and warming themselves in the sun.
