CommentFor a long time these little birds have eluded me. I can hear them, but never see them. This day I was out photographing Rainbow Bee Eaters and when I turned around a couple of them were playing in the tree behind me. I feel that the background colour of the leaves brings out the colour in the chest and I really liked that. They stayed around for about 5 minutes ensuring I had plenty of time to capture them. It's not the most perfect of shots with the branch out of his back - but to me it's a win. I believe this is the sub-species Melanocephalus or Black-headed Pardalote.
