CommentI had the good fortune to have my arrival at Quualup Homestead coincide with that of at least several hundred purple-crowned lorikeets roosting in the adjacent woodlands. Mornings, multiple groups of 20 or more birds would zoom past like rockets, presumably in search of trees in bloom. Late afternoons the groups would zoom by again on their way to their roosting trees. I will never forget the sight of these beautiful birds. Fortunately for us, many trees at the homestead were blooming, as well, so I had plenty of opportunities for photographs!
