CommentA diagnostic feature of Nordmann's Greenshank is the webbing between the front three toes...the only tringa that has this. This is visible with the bird kindly lifting its left foot. I've aged this bird as 2+ and is therefore a non-breeding adult. This bird has nice clean plumage with no remnant juvenile feathers. Another unusual feature of this species is that it undertakes a full moult on passage rather than when it arrives here in Australia unlike our other migrant shorebirds.

Photographed here with Red Knot, Great Knot, Oriental Plover, Grey-tailed Tattler, Terek Sandpiper and Greater & Lesser Sandplover
