CommentTaken in the later afternoon when the Brown Quails at this location are particularly active. The biggest challenge is getting one or two birds isolated and focused in a frame without having several others run across or behind. They really dart every which way, calling and feeding. I would normally have used my Canon 100-400 for birds at such close proximity, but there had been some Spotted Crakes crossing further down this gravel track and I thought the Tamron might provide the extra reach. The track bisects a marsh area and paddocks with tall grass grazed by cattle. In any event the crakes were a no show.
