CommentOn a recent trip to Mutawintji National Park I was astonished at the number of Budgerigars that inhabit the park. Our campsite seemed to be a favourite spot for the Budgies, giving me ample opportunities to photograph these beautiful little birds.

I have lodged this image before, but thank you to Glenn Pure for pointing out to me that the image was too dark . I should have processed the image and not posted it for a few days,reviewed the image again and then maybe I would have decided that it was way too dark. So I reloaded the Tiff file that I had saved and made the following adjustments.
1.Increased the exposure. 2. I selected the background and adjusted the highlights and shadows on the tree. 3. Downsized the image.3 Applied a small amount of sharpening to the bird and saved the image. A much better result I think.
EquipmentCanon EOS 7D mark II ,Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM , Ext EF 2x III
1/1250sec@ f/5.6 ISO 640 Spot metering. focal length 600mm . Raw file converted to a Tiff in Lighrtoom. Noise reduction applied in Topaz DeNoise AI transferred to Photoshop to downsize and final sharpening before saving.
