CommentNice to spend some quality time with this very handsome fellow in breeding plumage. There were a pair here on the edge of the Lagoon sifting actively through the weeds for food. Every now and them they would pause and look up which is when this image was captured. Bird is engaged with camera and eye is sharp. Bill and head direction is well positioned to display the breeding plumage back of the head and pose is strong and gives the bird a great confident personality. Exposure and levels are good - white is white and black is black. DoF is great and is as shot. Subtle vignette applied with a curves layer to allow the bird to pop.
