CommentThis was a reflection day to die for and I was fortunate to have the company of this beautiful Pelican who put on a great stretching display for me. I chose this because of the mirror-like quality of the pond surface and thus providing an exquisite reflection. Furthermore both eyes are visible as he looks straight at the camera and they are clearly evident in the reflection. The bird is sharp and well exposed where whites are white and black is black. The pose is awesome almost as if he was doing it for me deliberately. I have kept the composition a little loose to show the habitat and give the reflection full expression. DoF was a little sharp so I have applied a slight blur and a subtle vignette to assist the bird and reflection to pop.
