CommentThis is the first time I have been able to observe at close range these birds feeding. They seem to prefer to rotate the neck in order to align their curved bills down crab burrows rather than move their bodies. The degree of rotation available is quite staggering and I found them quite comical to watch, as did another whom viewed some of my shots. The most dramatic was somewhat blown so I have chosen this one.
