CommentI was having a late lunch at the beach and spotted this SO searching for its own lunch on the rocks during the incoming tide. I hadn't gone specifically to take photos but as I had the camera on hand I walked to a convenient rock that gave me some cover (and something to rest the gear on) and sat there for what turned into a most productive 3/4 of an hour or so until I realised that I was about to be trapped by the tide myself. It was interesting to see the effort and positioning required for the bird to remove the limpet from the rock; they certainly don't come off easily! I positioned the bird off middle slightly to the right so the waves on the far right remain in the frame.
