CommentIt was good timing to capture these swans undertake this elaborate mating ritual. I caught them out the corner of my eye and had the time and opportunity to hide in some nearby reeds to watch and capture the spectacle. Over the week in a nearby lake I have been observing a large influx of black swans, it was good to have these two separated and close by. With the flurry of activity, it was hard to capture but I was happy with this particular image, it has a sense of elegant beauty about it. The spectacle itself was surreal to experience. Getting the right balance of settings on the camera was challenging, I could have perhaps increased teh ISO to get a faster shutter speed and may have had some more useful images to capture the events.
