CommentI had heard on the grapevine that a pair of Peregrine Falcons were nesting at Iluka, an hours drive away from where I live. I worked out approximately when I thought they would fledge, not wanting to disturb them while still on the nest. Luckily when we saw them, a newly pair of fledglings were flying around & landing reasonably close. This particular photo, one of them landed on the ground pretty close to us. Keeping very still as to not disturb it, I was lucky to get some nice close up shots. I liked the way this one seemed to be curious of me, looking directly at me. Being able to see its beautiful plumage- browner streaked underparts, details of its eyes & bill in the photograph is a bonus. It was a sunny day, so good lighting, & using an aperture of 7.1, I managed to blur the background, putting more attention on the bird itself, & its detail.
